Howe Independent School District

"Educating the Hope of Tomorrow"

Programs During the School Year :
·   Wee  Readers - Friday mornings at 9:00 am during the school year (10:00 am during the summer).  This program is for pre-school children (birth through 5 years old) and their parents/caregivers. We have lots of fun enjoying stories, singing songs, making crafts, exploring new toys, and playing with our friends.  Earn a free book after 4 visits.
Wee Readers on the Go - Once a month.  Through an initial grant provided by Target, the library is able to bring the Wee Readers program to children attending the Wee School at the Howe Methodist Church. Lots of stories, songs, and poems to share!
Garden Club - Monday afternoons after school.  Join us as we work in our gardens - planting seeds, watering, pulling weeds, harvesting crops, drying herbs, and trying out tasty dishes.  Be prepared to get dirty and sweaty!

Summer Programs:

Student Volunteer Program - Youth that just completed grades 5th and up can volunteer during the summer months.  Assist with library projects and programs for children.
Summer Reading Program (co-sponsored by the Texas State Library and the Friends of the Howe Library).  Activities, games, stories, and cool prizes for children and teens during the summer months.
