Charge Policy
Board Approved Charge Policy | Howe ISD Cafeteria Guidelines-Negative Balance
Parent will be contacted by any or all of the following means when a student's account becomes negative: written notice sent home with student, email or phone call.
Negative Balance Grace Period | If a student's meal account reaches a negative balance, that student will be allowed to charge meals until they reach the following limits:
Elementary/Intermediate School -$10.00
Middle School -$10.00
High School -$15.00
Alternate Meals | When a student's meal account reaches a negative balance at or below the charge limit, that student will receive an alternate meal at a reduced rate.
Breakfast -$0.75 | Breakfast will consist of toast, fruit and milk.
Lunch -$1.50 | Lunch will consist of a sandwich, fruit and milk.
End of Year Procedures | Charges will not be allowed three weeks prior to the last day of instruction. Students who do not have the necessary funds to pay for a meal will be given an alternate meal.
Lunch Reimbursement Form
For reimbursement of money left on your child's account, please fill out the Lunch Reimbursement Form and return it to your child's school. Please allow for 2 weeks to process your request. If you have any questions, contact Danielle Nicholson, Director of Food Services.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form which can be obtained online at: https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/USDA-OASCR%20P-Complaint-Form-0508-0002-508-11-28- 17Fax2Mail.pdf, from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation.
